Chapter 2: The Prison Hidden Behind Luxury

Chapter 2: The Prison Hidden Behind Luxury
Alejandro's hand stopped only inches from Vivian's throat.
The silence inside the mansion became unbearable.
Everyone expected him to strike.
Instead, he lowered his arm.
"No."
His voice was terrifyingly calm.
"You don't deserve a quick punishment."
Vivian forced out a shaky laugh.
"You can't touch me. Half of everything in this house is legally mine."
Alejandro slowly smiled.
"Not anymore."
His phone vibrated.
"My lawyers have frozen every company account linked to Vivian Moretti," his attorney said over the speakerphone. "The board has also suspended her authority effective immediately."
Vivian's smile disappeared.
"That's impossible!"
"It became possible the moment I learned the truth."
She lunged toward Alejandro.
"You think she'll thank you? She begged me not to let you find her!"
Elena suddenly spoke.
"That's a lie."
Her quiet voice echoed through the foyer.
Everyone turned toward her.
For the first time in three years, she stood straight.
"I never stopped waiting for you."
Alejandro crossed the room in two strides and wrapped his arms around her.
She trembled violently.
"I searched everywhere," he whispered.
"I know."
She buried her face against his chest.
"They made sure every message I wrote disappeared."
Alejandro slowly looked toward the servants.
"Whoever knows what happened...
...step forward."
No one moved.
Until an elderly butler walked out.
Then another maid.
Then the gardener.
One after another.
Nearly every employee lined up.
The old butler lowered his head.
"Sir... we wanted to help."
Vivian screamed.
"Don't you dare!"
Nobody looked at her anymore.
The butler continued.
"Miss Vivian confiscated Mrs. Castillo's passport."
A maid spoke next.
"She locked Mrs. Castillo inside the old east wing every night."
Another servant wiped away tears.
"She told us you believed your wife had abandoned you."
Another voice joined.
"She threatened to send our families away if we talked."
The truth came crashing down piece by piece.
Alejandro felt sick.
His own mansion...
had become a prison.
Elena slowly rolled up her sleeves.
Dark bruises.
Fresh scars.
Old burn marks.
The room gasped.
Alejandro's breathing became uneven.
"Who did this?"
Elena didn't answer.
She simply looked at Vivian.
That was enough.
Vivian backed away.
"I can explain—"
"No," Alejandro interrupted.
"You've been explaining for three years."
Police sirens echoed outside.
Vivian spun toward the front doors.
She ran.
But before she reached them...
dozens of officers flooded into the mansion.
Detective Marcus Rivera stepped forward.
"Vivian Moretti..."
He unfolded an arrest warrant.
"...you're under arrest for kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment, identity fraud, financial conspiracy, and multiple counts of aggravated assault."
Handcuffs clicked around her wrists.
She laughed.
"You don't have enough proof."
The detective smiled.
"We haven't even searched your office yet."
Vivian's expression finally cracked.
Deep inside the mansion...
someone began screaming.
The police had discovered a hidden basement.

And whatever was inside...
made every officer turn pale.
