My Son Came Home Early With a Gift for His Daughter—Then Froze When He Saw His Wife Kicking Me as I Shielded His Little Girl!
My Daughter-in-Law Kicked Me While I Shielded Her 7-Year-Old Daughter—Then My Son Came Home Early and Saw Everything!
"GET AWAY FROM MY MOTHER!"
My son's furious voice shook the entire living room.
I was lying on the marble floor, desperately shielding my seven-year-old granddaughter with my injured body.
Every breath sent pain through my ribs.
Little Maya was trembling beneath me, crying, "Grandma, please don't let Mommy hurt us again!"
My daughter-in-law, Sloane, stood over us, her foot raised for another kick.
Then my son Malcolm walked through the front door.
The gift box slipped from his hands.
He had come home early to surprise his little girl.
Instead, he found his wife attacking his elderly mother.
"Malcolm, it's not what you think!" Sloane cried.
"I SAW YOU KICK MY MOTHER!"
Her face went pale.
"She grabbed Maya! I was protecting our daughter!"
But when Malcolm reached for his little girl, Maya flinched and looked fearfully at her mother.
Then he noticed the red marks around his daughter's wrist.
"Who did this to you, sweetheart?"
Maya wouldn't answer.
Malcolm immediately called 911.
And that's when something strange happened.
Maya pointed beneath the coffee table, where a small purple paper bird lay beside a spilled cup of grape juice.
"Grandma," she whispered, "please don't let Mommy take the purple bird."
Sloane suddenly stopped crying.
Her eyes widened.
For the first time, the woman who had terrified us for months looked absolutely terrified herself.
Because that little purple bird wasn't just a child's drawing...
