Everyone else ran from the burning mansion.
Nora ran back in.
Not because Adrian Vale was the most feared mafia boss in Boston.
Not because anyone had ordered her to save him.
She went back because Adrian might be the only man alive who knew why her father disappeared twelve years ago.
By the time she found him, Adrian was unconscious beneath a fallen cabinet as flames climbed the walls.
“Wake up!”
Nothing.
Nora grabbed him and pulled.
Then his eyes opened.
“Go,” he rasped.
“No.”
He stared through the smoke.
“Nora.”
Her hands froze.
She had never told him her real name.
“You know who I am?”
Adrian’s answer made her blood run cold.
“I know more than you think.”
Seconds later, they barely escaped before the windows exploded.
But outside, Adrian’s security chief stopped Nora.
“What’s your full name?”
“Nora Benn.”
He stared at her for a long moment.
Then said quietly:
“No. It isn’t.”
Hours later, Nora left the hospital and found a black SUV waiting at the curb.
The security chief was sitting inside.
And the first thing he said was:
“Get in. It’s time you learned what really happened to your father.”
