The Most Feared Woman in Prison Threw Her Food on the Floor and Ordered the New Girl to Pick It Up—Then She Whispered “24701,” and the Entire Cafeteria Went Silent!

The Most Feared Woman in Prison Threw Her Food at the New Girl and Ordered Her to Pick It Up—Then She Whispered “24701,” and the Entire Cafeteria Went Silent!

"PICK IT UP, NEW GIRL!"

A plate of spaghetti crashed onto the prison floor.

Two hundred female inmates burst into laughter.

Standing over me was Morgane Vale—the most dangerous woman inside Redhaven Correctional Facility.

Nobody dared challenge her.

Nobody dared look her in the eyes.

And now she was ordering me to kneel and pick up her spilled lunch.

"Get on your knees, sweetheart!" Morgane sneered.

I stood perfectly still.

"No."

The laughter stopped.

Morgane stepped closer, her face twisting with anger.

"WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?"

I looked straight into her eyes.

Then I whispered five numbers.

"24701."

Morgane froze.

Her confident smile vanished.

The fork slipped from her fingers and clattered against the floor.

"Where... where did you hear that number?" she whispered.

"From my sister."

Her eyes widened.

"What's your sister's name?"

"Leah Ellis."

Morgane's face turned deathly pale.

Three months earlier, my sister had mysteriously disappeared.

Her final phone message contained only five numbers.

I'd spent every night trying to understand what they meant.

Now, standing in the middle of a prison cafeteria, I finally saw someone recognize them.

"Tell me what happened to my sister," I demanded.

Morgane glanced nervously toward the security cameras.

Then she grabbed my wrist and leaned close enough that nobody else could hear.

"Listen carefully. That's not an inmate number."

    My heart pounded.

    "Then what is it?"

Her next words made my blood run cold.

"It's the number they put on the paperwork when they want someone to disappear."

Before I could ask another question, the cafeteria doors swung open.

The deputy warden walked inside with two correctional officers.

    He looked directly at me.

    "Ellis. You're coming with us."

    "Why?"

    He smiled.

"Medical has been waiting for you."

    But I hadn't requested a medical appointment.

And when Morgane heard those words, the color drained from her face.

She leaned toward me one last time.

"Whatever you do," she whispered, "don't let them take you through the basement door."

Then one of the officers grabbed my arm.

    And I realized something terrifying.

    May you like

The people who made my sister disappear already knew I was asking questions.
