I was 28 weeks pregnant when my husband’s mistress pushed me down the stone steps of our home.
I hit the ground so hard I couldn’t breathe.
All I could think about was my baby.
“Please move,” I whispered, holding my stomach. “Please, baby…”
Then Vanessa slowly walked down the steps, crouched beside me, and smiled.
“You really should be more careful,” she whispered. “A fall like that could end very badly.”
Seconds later, my husband came outside.
For one desperate moment, I thought he would run to me.
He didn’t.
He rushed to her.
“Vanessa, are you okay?”
I stared at him from the ground, bleeding and terrified for our daughter.
Then he looked me straight in the eyes and said:
“Emily… you fell.”
But as the paramedics lifted me onto the stretcher, I noticed something above the porch.
