Chapter 13 - Blue Spiral

Blue Spiral Systems did not exist anymore.
Its old warehouse did.
Police searched it just after midnight.
Behind a false wall, they found retired servers, boxes of contract drafts, and identity files belonging to former Altamar employees.
Including Arturo Vega.
Including Álvaro Medina.
Including Elena Martín.
Clara stood in the doorway looking like she might collapse.
“My father told me he sold the company before he got sick.”
“To whom?” Elena asked.
“I never knew.”
A detective opened a steel cabinet.
Inside were notebooks covering twelve years.
The earliest entries predated Isabel’s time as chairwoman.
That mattered.
The conspiracy was older than everyone’s favorite suspect.
One ledger described a process called MIRROR LANGUAGE.
Foreign-language clauses would be strengthened.
Compliance failures would be manufactured.
Emergency financing would be offered by a related fund.
Then assets would be acquired cheaply while boards blamed foreign partners.
“It’s a machine,” Álvaro said.
Elena nodded. “A repeatable one.”
They found a list of targeted companies.
Some had gone bankrupt.
Some had been sold.
Some had quietly transferred patents.
At the bottom was Altamar.
Next to it:
FINAL TEST CASE.
Alba found another page with initials.
G.F.
I.S.
A.V.
C.F.
J.S.
Five people.
Gabriel Fuentes.
Isabel Salcedo.
Arturo Vega.
Clara Fuentes.
Javier Salcedo.
Javier stared at his initials.
“I was never part of this.”
Elena turned the page.
Next to J.S. was a different notation.
CONTROLLED THROUGH FATHER.
Javier sat down.
His father had not merely owned a family office.
He had been connected to the system that trapped his own son.
Then a detective called from the back room.
They had found a live terminal.
Still connected.
A video window opened.
An older man appeared on screen.
Elena covered her mouth.
May you like
Arturo Vega looked directly into the camera.
And said, “Alba, if you are there, your mother finally did what I asked.”
