Chapter 7 - The Silver Shape
That afternoon, Maya sat with Noah while he drew a picture of the terrace. He used black for the tower, blue for the sea, and a silver crayon for a little shape near the base. He drew a man in a black jacket with a bird on his sleeve.
"Who's that?" Maya asked.
"Uncle Adrian. His shiny bird was near my car."
"What did he do?"
Noah moved the silver crayon against the drawing. "He pushed this down with his shoe. He told me it was a secret button. Then he said I had to stay quiet."
Maya did not ask him to repeat it. She wrote down his words after he had gone to play and shared the drawing with the investigator through the proper process.
Julian studied the picture that evening. Adrian's falcon cufflinks had been visible in several gala photographs, but the drawing showed something else: the man was standing behind the pedestal, facing the private office, not the crowd.

It was Adrian's shoe, planted directly on the release pedal.
