Everyone Believed Vanessa—Until the Security Camera Played Back What Really Happened
Leo was already falling when I saw him.
I ran and caught my two-year-old three steps before he hit the marble floor.
He was screaming, clinging to my neck, while Vanessa stood at the top of the staircase and said the one thing that made my blood run cold:
“He slipped.”
Then Richard came home.
Vanessa immediately pointed at me.
“Anna left him alone. She should be fired.”
I was too stunned to speak.
But Leo wasn’t.
Still crying in his father’s arms, he slowly lifted one tiny hand…
and pointed toward the black security camera above the stairs.
The entire foyer went silent.
Richard looked at Vanessa.
Then at the camera.
“Good,” he said quietly.
“We’ll watch it.”
