Chapter 13 - MAKE ARTHUR THE STORY

Within two hours, an anonymous account posted edited video from Easter.
It showed Victoria pushing me.
Then cut.
Next clip: me entering the mansion furious.
Then me kneeling beside Emily.
Then a freeze-frame that made my hand near Michael look like a threat.
Caption:
RETIRED FEDERAL AGENT STORMS FAMILY EASTER PARTY.
The full context was gone.
Michael’s attorney gave a television interview.
“Mr. Harrington is concerned that Emily is being manipulated by her father.”
Rachel filed to preserve the full party recordings from guests.
Within a day, people started sending videos.
One showed Michael grabbing Emily’s arm before I arrived.
Another captured Victoria whispering to Brooks.
A third recorded Brooks telling a guest:
“Arthur will blow up. Just stay back.”
Then one guest came forward.
Thomas Vale.
A banker.
He had been standing near the study.
He heard Michael say:
“Hit record before her father gets here.”
Thomas thought they were documenting a domestic dispute.
He did not understand the setup until the news broke.
He handed over his phone.
The audio was clear.
Michael.
Then Brooks:
“Once Arthur crosses the doorway, nobody touches him unless he touches first.”
Victoria answered:
“I can make him.”
That was the push on the steps.
Not an insult.
A trigger.
Then Michael disappeared.
His ankle monitor had not been ordered yet.
He was legally free to travel.
But Emily did.
“There’s a place.”
“Where?”
“Clearwater has a private cabin property near the state line.”
I looked at her.
“How do you know?”
“He took me there once.”
“For vacation?”
“No.”
Her face changed.
“He called it a retreat.”
May you like
Then she whispered:
“That was the first place he ever hit me.”
